Cruinn Còmhla

[Tionndadh Gàidhlig]

We had another great CRUINN CÒMHLA day on Saturday 28 February at our Gaelic community event for Gaelic Week 2026!

People from all ages across the Gaelic community in Edinburgh, and visitors to the town, came together to take part in Gaelic classes, arts and crafts, singing – both puirt à beul and psalms – presentations on the Gaelic resources at the School of Scottish Studies, the Gaelic community of South Uist, and the philosophy of learning Gaelic, and lots of opportunities to speak Gaelic.

This was the third in a series of four events, which aim to bring people together from across the Gaelic community in Edinburgh for Gaelic learning, opportunities to speak Gaelic, and fun activities. The final Cruinn Còmhla event will be held on Saturday 9 May at The Heart of Newhaven community hub.

We are grateful to Bòrd na Gàidhlig which is supporting us to put on the these Cruinn Còmhla events, and to keep them open to all, through their Taic Freumhan Coimhearsnachd fund.

These events are another step on our journey towards a permanent Gaelic Hub in Edinburgh. However, we cannot do anything without the continued support of the Gaelic community. Please consider joining us as a member of Ionad Gàidhlig Dhùn Èideann, volunteering to help at events or with taking the campaign forward, or signing up for our newsletter to keep up to date with our activities.
